Quinn Ila Reid


Quinn Ila Reid (she/her) is a writer, podcaster, and technologist living in the hills of northern Vermont.

Her writing credits include short stories and articles in publications like Strange Horizons, two Writers of the Future anthologies, Daily Science Fiction, Clarkesworld, The Writer, Communities Magazine, Nature, and others. Her short, usually humorous plays have been performed in small venues around Vermont and elsewhere, and she is the author of the subculture slang dictionary Talk the Talk: The Slang of 67 American Subcultures, originally published in 2006. In 2022, she was a co-recipient of a Locus award for founding the online writing group Codex.

She is transgender and active in Vermont's LGBTQ+ community. Most of her published work is under her previous name--but such is life!

Quinn is also a musician, a dancer, and a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo Chung Do Kwan. She is deeply concerned with reversing climate change and with bridging the political divide.

She is the producer of two podcasts, a gender identity interview series and a science fiction/mystery/comedy audiodrama.
